Differences between Astronomy and Astrology

Many people are unaware of the Differences between Astronomy and Astrology, the truth is that although they seem to be part of the same thing, there are many things that make them different. To understand it better, let’s first understand what each one is about.

The definition of Astronomy is the scientific study of matter outside the Earth’s atmosphere. This includes the stars, the planets, what they are made of, and how they move. It also studies the evolution of each of them.

Astronomy and Astrology

Astrology, on the other hand, includes several groups of traditional systems that use the position of the planets and stars at the time of an individual’s birth. This is done to predict your future, personality, important events in your life, etc. This is called a pseudo-scipseudoscienceence because it lacks a scientific foundation.

Differences between Astronomy and Astrology

Although there are differences between astronomy and astrology, both came to be considered separately only during modern times . In the early history of mankind, science had not developed to the point where the quantifiable aspects of astronomy could be clearly reasoned about. The working of the stars and planets was a mystery to man until advances in scientific fields in the last hundred years.

Astrology remained part of mainstream science until the late 1600s, when Isaac Newton demonstrated some of the physical processes by which celestial bodies affect each other. In doing so, he showed that the same laws that make an apple fall from a tree also apply to the movements of the celestial sphere. Since then, astronomy has become an entirely separate field , where predictions about celestial phenomena are made and tested using the scientific method.

Astronomy is a science that studies everything that is outside the Earth’s atmosphere, such as planets, stars, asteroids, galaxies. In addition to the properties and relationships of those celestial bodies. Astronomers base their studies on research and observation. Astrology, on the other hand, is the belief that the positioning of the stars and planets affects the way events occur on earth.
